Cyber Security Engineer

Provide clients with security engineering services and support services for cloud services solutions primarily; provide pre-sales support to determine business and technical requirements and then identify appropriate technology solutions; stay abreast of emerging technologies and serve as a resource and mentor with team clients; provide ongoing technical support for new and existing clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, install, configure, migrate, support and document best practice security services and solutions to meet clients’ current and future business and technical requirements
  • Provide technical support for new and existing clients, including after-hours support
  • Provide pre-sales support, interfacing with clients to gather business and technical requirements and then translate them into appropriate solutions with accurate cost estimates
  • Document, develop, implement and/or refine processes, procedures and standards; stay abreast of emerging technologies and maintain certifications; maintain regulatory compliance
  • Mentor, learn, and collaborate with team clients
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  •  8+ years of IT experience and 5+ years of cyber security experience
  •  Security+ certification required
  • Experience with one or more industry standard cyber security tools including security information and event management, security patching, data loss prevention, vulnerability scanning, firewalls, IDS/IPS, web filtering, pen testing tools, and malware tools.
  • Must have experience in guiding the remediation (patching) process
  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems; Linux experience a plus
  • Good working knowledge of network devices, and related infrastructure devices
  • Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve high-level, complex, technical problems
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills to include briefing executive leadership
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker
  • Consultative skills, including the ability to understand and assist in applying client requirements
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, to collaborate and to effect positive initiatives
  • Knowledge of credit union philosophy, laws, compliance, and regulatory requirements related to matters of state and federally chartered credit unions
  • Knowledge of and compliance with the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), USA PATRIOT Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), and all other relevant regulatory requirements

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred; in lieu of a degree, a minimum of seven years of technical security experience is acceptable. CISSP or GSEC/Security + and experience in a financial services environment are preferred.
